Track day 13/12/2021
It’s not just drivers who need training. Over the past two years here at UOW Motorsport, we’ve seen many new faces come through the recruitment process to replace the veterans. Monday’s track day had a great mix of old and new members, with the outgoing members showing the new crew how a successful track day is run. Oh has it been an interesting handover with lockdown restrictions in place and virtual meetings!

The goals of this track day were met! The day was packed with knowledge transfer involving track set up, data analysis, driver feedback analysis and troubleshooting.
Roaring back to life, we woke up our 2018 IC “Susie” from its deep slumber to compare its handling characteristics to our 2019 EV “Stacie”. Immediately, the drivers noticed the differences in handling and how far past the limit each car remained drivable. Although preferences were split between the two cars, a consensus was reached: Stacie could be driven at a higher extreme but would quickly lose that edge in performance if driven too hard, while Susie was more lenient to be pushed passed the limit but couldn’t hold quite as high of an extreme.

It was an awesome day for the team and we would like to say a massive thank you to Sydney Motorsport Park, The Australian Racing Drivers’ Club, and The University of Wollongong for their continued support.
