Track Day 11th February 2026 

For one of our track days in Feb, was all about suspension data collection, which helped one of our team members’ suspension thesis. The goal of the day was to collect suspension, steering, and vehicle dynamic data during controlled manoeuvres to analyse how the suspension behaves and how the car responds under repeatable operating conditions.

We had two testing drivers on hand, each contributing to a series of runs designed to push the limits of our suspension system and gather precise data for analysis. The morning began with Slalom testing, where the drivers weaved through cones to observe how the suspension handled rapid directional changes. This test helped us understand how the system reacts to quick transitions and how it maintains 

Next, we moved on to Hairpin testing, focusing on steering behaviour and how the suspension interacts with sharp cornering forces. These runs provided valuable insight into how the car manages load transfer and steering precision under tight manoeuvres. 

To round out the dynamic testing, we conducted Acceleration launches to study how the rear suspension compresses under high torque and straight‑line acceleration. Each run was carefully monitored to capture how the system absorbs and distributes forces through the chassis. 

Midway through the day, we paused to charge the car before continuing with additional runs to validate our earlier data. By the end of the session, we had gathered a strong dataset for member’s thesis and for our Suspension system to refine this year’s design. 

Overall, it was a successful track day. Not only did we collect valuable data, but we also gained deeper insight into how our suspension system can be improved for future performance.
