FSAE-A Comp Day One
The UOW Motorsport team arrived at Calder Park at 8:00 a.m. sharp, greeted by a bright and warm day. The agenda for the day included inspections, presentations, and testing. With the team’s hard work on display, the focus was firmly on ensuring that our car was compliant, safe, and ready for competition.
The day began with the EV Static Inspection, where the car’s electrical systems were thoroughly checked to ensure they met the highest safety standards. This process included visual inspections for hazards, grounding tests for conductive components, and verifying that all systems were secure. After a detailed review, the car passed, setting a positive and optimistic tone for the day.
Next came the Mechanical Inspection, where the structural integrity of the car was rigorously evaluated. This involved checks on chassis thickness, driver gear assessments, and fastener inspections to ensure everything was secure and safe. Once again, the car passed, marking an important milestone early in the day.

The first event the team participated in was the ‘Cost Presentation.’ The Suspension Manager led the presentation, confidently explaining key design and engineering decisions. While the judges noted room for improvement in drawing details, the team’s overall preparation paid off, earning positive feedback.
In the afternoon, the car underwent the Accumulator Inspection, which included a detailed review of safety equipment, the charging trolley, and the accumulator itself. Despite encountering a few challenges, the team adapted quickly and successfully achieved a pass.
Following this, the car was put through the Tilt Test, designed to evaluate stability and fluid containment. The car performed exceptionally well, demonstrating its readiness for the dynamic events ahead.

The day’s achievements showcased the team’s hard work and problem-solving skills. From passing inspections to delivering the Cost Presentation, the team demonstrated their dedication and expertise.
As the day concluded, we packed up and left Calder Park, proud of what we had accomplished, and we are ready to battle the challenges in the days ahead during the competition.
