Track Day 28th January 2025

The team gathered at Sydney Motorsport Park for another Team Drive Day. This provided an opportunity to reward the hard work and dedication shown throughout the 2024 season. The event provided drivers with valuable seat time, fostering team morale while refining driving techniques and vehicle performance.

At 8:00 AM, a mandatory safety briefing was conducted to ensure all participants understood track rules, safety protocols, and emergency procedures. This was followed by a track walk led by an experienced driver, allowing drivers to familiarise themselves with the course and make necessary adjustments to ensure a balanced layout for all skill levels.

At 9:00 AM, the first shakedown was conducted by one of the senior race engineers. The car performed well overall, though a loose chain was identified as a minor issue. The powertrain team quickly addressed the problem, ensuring the car was in optimal condition before the first driver took to the truck.

All new drivers were required to complete an egress test before their first stint, ensuring they could exit the vehicle within five seconds in case of an emergency. With all safety checks complete, the team drive day officially began.

Each driver completed a five-lap stint, gaining valuable on-track experience and providing feedback on vehicle handling. The early sessions highlighted the car’s loose setup, which some drivers found enjoyable, while others noted the challenge it presented in maintaining control. Some drivers found the car’s handling to be smooth and predictable, while others noted areas for minor refinements, such as understeer. Despite these variations, overall feedback remained highly positive, with drivers enjoying the opportunity to push the car in a controlled environment.

By 4:00 PM, heavy winds and a depleted battery signalled the end of the session. The team promptly packed up and began the return trip home. The day proved to be both productive and rewarding, offering drivers valuable time to refine their skills while highlighting areas for potential vehicle adjustments.
