Track Day 03rd July 2025 Part 1
The team arrived at Sydney Motorsport Park for another track day, with the session focused on two main objectives: testing two potential new drivers and carrying out brake testing for the Powertrain team. The day officially began with a safety briefing at 8:30am, ensuring everyone was prepared before heading out on track.
At 8:45am, one of our experienced drivers headed out for the shakedown run. The undertray was scraped slightly at first, but after some quick adjustments and a reposition, it was sorted. At 9:00am, the group set out on the track walk to get familiar with the layout before driving.

Endurance testing started at 9:20am with two of our experienced drivers, who each completed 10 laps. These runs gave us solid data, which would be useful for comparison later on. At 10:20am, the two new potential drivers each had their turn with 10 laps. The first potential driver brings a strong background in motorsport, including karting championships, BMX racing, sim driving, and racing his own car in events. The second potential driver has previously shown promising pace on the simulator and was able to put those skills into practice on track.
By 11:00am, the car went on charge, giving us a good opportunity to capture content for the social media team.
After charging, the focus shifted to Powertrain testing. At 12:50pm, our second experienced went out first on the new tyres to make sure everything was running as expected before beginning the standing-start acceleration runs. Each run ended with heavy braking, allowing the team to measure the brake rotor and tyre temperatures. A minor issue arised with the front-left tyre slowly leaking air. Before the next run, the front tyres were swapped out to fix the problem.

At 2:30pm, our first experienced driver took over and ran rolling-start acceleration tests under the same conditions. For both drivers, torque settings were adjusted to help the Powertrain group gather data on braking system design and traction limits.
The second phase of Powertrain testing began around 3:30pm. This included adjusting the brake sleeve position to see how different pressures affected performance. Our experienced drivers both ran autocross tests under these settings, providing more valuable feedback for the system. Once complete, the car was put back on charge.
That concluded the daytime sessions, but we weren’t finished yet as night testing was also planned, which we’ll cover in the next blog post.
