Track Day 11 April 2024
The UOW Motorsport team at Sydney Motorsport Park (SMSP), started early. We started with a series of shakedown as a preparation and prelude to testing the car, as a method to ensure the car would operate efficiently on the track. The car performed very well, being able to operate at full power for a considerable amount of time and reaching a top speed of 130 km/h.

We conducted 40 acceleration runs, this allowed us to assess the impact that shifting the load had on the rear tires, which subsequently improved grip and traction. We additionally tested the cars endurance capabilities through gradually increasing power. The test showed the results that the car was able to both meet our expectations and exceed them.

Before lunch, we plugged the accumulator in to charge, and set up the skidpad circuit to evaluate and test the new torque vectoring system. The results were noticeable, with an increase in speed, cornering capabilities, and overall performance.
In the afternoon, we set up an autocross track to test a new simplex chain. The driver completed a few shakedown laps and then began a series of endurance runs, stopping every 10 laps to check the chain’s condition. After three stints, the chain was fully stretched and ready for further testing on another track day.

The day concluded as a success with the team gaining valuable insights gained from the various tests conducted.
