Track Day 10th August 2025

The team hit the track once again at Sydney Motorsport Park for another Driver Development Track Day, focusing on refining driving styles and building a stronger connection between race engineers and drivers.

For this track day, the team worked with two developing drivers as they prepared for the end-of-year competition, alongside an experienced driver who can provide guidance, tips, and tricks to help them improve.

After all the necessary pre-track day requirements were completed, our experienced driver did the shakedown. We found that the car was too low to the ground because of the soft springs, so we had to raise the height of the car by shortening the pull rod length.

Once the issue was resolved and the shakedown was fully complete, we started our endurance runs. Each driver went out for 10-lap stints, with the set-up adjusted after each one. This allowed the drivers to feel the car and provide feedback to identify what they liked or disliked about each set-up.

The weather wasn’t in our favour, as it was a cold day and the track was slightly wet, which led to our drivers occasionally having some spins. However, it was a great opportunity to test the drivers in different weather conditions, and besides the spins, they performed well. As the day went on, we adjusted the springs by installing stiffer ones, as the drivers were experiencing a lot of understeer.

Unfortunately, the rain came in towards the end of the day, which caused us to stop set-up tuning due to the uneven conditions, leading us to begin throttle control testing. Due to the poor conditions from the rain, we had to pack up earlier for this track day.

Despite the early pack up, it was a great track day for developing our potential drivers for the competition, and we gained valuable data for our Race Engineering team to analyse.
