FSAE-A Comp Day Two
The UOW Motorsport team arrived at the track bright and early, ready for day two. The agenda for today was to complete EV Static, EV Functional, Design Event and the Business Presentation.
At 8:00 am the team had their business presentation; the Design Event assesses the team’s knowledge of Engineering Design and Project Management concepts. The Design team were faced with some challenging questions and the team adapted well and were able to go into more detail than last year.

We then moved onto EV Static, the team worked well on fixing the issues they faced yesterday, and we were able to pass EV Static!
At 2:00 pm we had the Design Presentation; the team presented and justified the design of the car to a team of judges where the extent of their technical knowledge was tested. The event was broken up into sections, consisting of concept and integration, vehicle performance, structures, tractive system, LV, driver. Each section had a booklet that contained relevant information for each section.

The next event was the Tilt Test, this is when the tallest driver sits in the car and is then rolled onto a rig and tilted up to 40 degrees to inspect for leaks. It is then tipped up to 60 degrees to test the centre of gravity of the car is low enough and won’t tip. We passed this event without any issues!

The next event was EV Functional; this involves checking the shutdown system, energy meter, driver input plausibility, etc. We came across a few issues that will need to be fixed tomorrow.

The team are happy with what they achieved today and all the hard work they put into working on the car. The team are excited for the dynamic events tomorrow.
