FSAE-A Comp Day Four
The UOW Motorsport team greeted the last and final day of the FSAE-A Competition at Calder Park bright and early. On the days agenda we wanted to complete the rest of the dynamic events (Autocross, Endurance & Efficiency) and to hopefully place on the podium for at least one event.

The first event of the day was Autocross Event which is where the cars are sent out on full power to prove which one can do the fastest lap. Our two selected drivers get two laps each of the track and you win this event by setting the fastest lap from any of the two drivers.
Our first driver did his 2 laps but unfortunately hit a few cones and spun out but overall, a pretty good run. Our second driver went out to do his first lap with no problems but unfortunately, during his second lap, a driver mishap happened which prevented our driver from driving further in the event. The team was able to fix the car with no issues and was able to make it in time to compete in the Endurance/Efficiency Event.

The second event of the day was the Endurance event which also ran the Efficiency Event at the same time. Endurance is the same track as Autocross, however, this one tests you on whether the team built a reliable car. Our 2 selected drivers have to complete 22km of the track, which is 9 laps per driver, and to win this event you have to complete the track but also win the fastest time. Efficiency is based on how much power the car uses over Endurance and the team who uses less power and are quicker wins.
Both drivers had overall good runs but unfortunately has been delayed by other teams but in the end we finished the Endurance event! Our first driver went out with a good consistent run, hit a few cones but overall had a near-perfect run. Our second driver went out, while improving every lap he did, again unfortunately one cone but he brought it home after a great run.
Overall, it was a successful Endurance run, and we are proud of our drivers for completing it.

At the end of the day, we went to the award ceremony, where we are proud to announce that came in 3rd in Efficiency and 2nd in Endurance.
After we packed up the pits after the long weekend, the team got to go home the next day super proud of all our accomplishments throughout the competition as it shows all the hard work and dedication that we have put into our 2024 car, Mollie
